Munich Airport Parking

Long and short-term parking at Munich Airport is handled via four multi-storey car parks and six underground car parks. In total there are some 20,000 parking spaces for the 35 million passengers that use the airport every year.

Of these 20,000 parking spaces the airport provides 16,500 covered parking spaces, which will be welcome news for passengers wishing to park long-term during Munich’s cold winters and hot summers.

At Terminal 1 motorists will find parking lots P1, P”, P3, P4, P5, P7 and P8, suitable for long-term parking and short-term visitor parking. These areas are located in front of arrival zones A to E.

At Terminal 2 motorists will find the pick-up and drop off area P20 for short term parking. Rental cars should be returned to the parking lot P26 which is just north of parking lot P9. The pick up area for rental cars, where keys and documents can be obtained, is just outside the Car Rental Centre at the Central Area/Zentralbereich.

Designated long-term parking at Munich Airport can be found at P5, P7 and P8 opposite Terminal 1. The multi-storey car parks P7 and P8 are reserved for long-term, reduced price parking from 8 days onwards, but passengers whose parking requirements exceed the mere “holiday” period of a couple of weeks, should head for P26, where true long-term parking is handled. This underground parking area is right next to the Kempinski Airport Hotel. Another long-term parking facility can be found at P35, which is next to the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) building.

Remote long-term parking can be found at P41 on Nordallee. Here long-term holiday or business travellers can park their cars at much lower rates than in the other car parks. There is space for some 4,500 cars in P41, which is connected via the S8 metro train system to the airport. Passengers can leave their car here and travel to their terminal within a short space of time, since the metro train service runs every 10 minutes. There is also a shuttle bus – Line 635 – that runs between the terminals and parking lot P41.

Passengers with a parking ticket are permitted to use the shuttle bus and the metro train lines S1 and S8 that run between the long-term car park P41 and the terminals free of charge. The train stops at the Besucherpark /Visitors Park and the walk from there will take around 10 minutes to complete. The shuttle bus 635 runs every 20 minutes between P41 and the terminals.

Short-term parking at Terminal 1 is available in P1, P2, P3 and P4 underground garages. Here motorists can leave their cars for up to 7 days. P9 outside the Central Area / Zentralbereich is also designated for short-term parking at Munich Airport.

Munich Airport can be reached from the city and beyond by taking the A92 motorway and then following the signposting to the airport complex. All the car parks are clearly signposted and the main access road for the terminals is Terminalstrasse.
