Buses to and from Hamburg Airport (HAM)
Hamburg Airport provides a number of different transport options to passengers wishing to use arrivals or departures. There are taxis dropping off passengers just outside the terminal or waiting at the designated taxi rank for their fares; there are metro trains taking passengers in under 25 minutes to the city centre; five car hire companies operate out of the airport and regular city bus services stopping just outside the two terminal buildings will take passengers to city destinations like the main train station or the bus terminal in the centre of Hamburg.
Hamburg Airport has 3 bus stops, namely bus stops A, B and C. All of them are located right in front of the two airport terminals. There is also an additional bus stop situated at the western side of the airport complex. Hamburg Airport buses from this stop leave from the Lufthansa engineering base, enabling their employees to take advantage of this service as well as transporting visitors.
Passengers requiring this service can get to this point from the airport terminal using the P8/P9 parking bus, which leaves every 10 minutes. The airport shuttle transports visitors wishing to use the Lufthansa bus free of charge to the engineering base. The shuttle bus operates from 03:45am onwards throughout the day.
Various city busses leave for the five train stations in the city. The Jasper airport bus offers non-stop services to arriving passengers. It runs from the airport bus stop B to the central railway station (Hauptbahnhof) on Kirchenallee. Finding the bus stop from the main railway station is very simple. The bus stop is conspicuously signposted just outside the station building, namely opposite the Europäische Hotel building. These buses leave every 10 to 15 minutes, operating between 5:45 am to 7:30 pm. From 10:30 pm to midnight the Jasper Hamburg Airport buses run every 20 minutes. The bus journey takes about 25 to 35 minutes between the main train station and the airport. The journey costs approx. 5.00 Euro for adults and 2.00 Euro for children up 12 years old for a single ticket.

The buses run from Mondays to Sundays, but on Sundays the services are not available at 7:13 pm, 12:13 pm, 6:13 pm and 10:13 pm. The single journey costs 24.00 Euro to Kiel city centre. The journey from bus stop C at Hamburg Airport to Bad Oldesloe takes 55 minutes. The final destination for this airport bus service is the historic city of Lübeck, stopping at ZOB 13 and it takes a total travelling time of 80 minutes to get there (ZOB = Zentraler Omnibus Bahnhof)
Historic Lübeck is a UNESCO world heritage site with dozens of medieval buildings, art collections and exhibitions showcasing the city’s rise to fame, wealth and influence during the days of the Hanseatic League and the days of the Vikings. The cost for a single ticket is 24.00 Euros.
