Buses to and from Frankfurt Airport (FRA)
It is easy to get about at Frankfurt Airport, since a People Mover conveyor belt system connects the terminals and assists passengers to reach their boarding gates for departure and arrival zones more quickly.
Transport between the terminals is also provided via SkyLine trains, which take passengers from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 in just a couple of minutes and via Frankfurt Airport buses that act as a shuttle between the terminal buildings. The free service leaves from just outside the terminals every 10 minutes.
The Airline Shuttle bus service is a Lufthansa operated service and offers onward travel to cities such as Mannheim, Heidelberg and Strasbourg ( please visit www.lufthansa-airportbus.de for details).
Buses from Frankfurt Airport to the major hotels in and around the airport complex also leave from just outside the terminals, operating mostly on 30 minute intervals throughout the day, although some hotel shuttle buses have a “call out” service, where hotel guests can ring up a designated telephone number and the shuttle will come to collect them.
The bus stops for Frankfurt Airport buses are located in front of Terminal 1 at the Arrivals Level and at Terminal 2, Level 2. At Terminal 2 passengers will also find bus stops for bus line 61, which connects the airport and Frankfurt South train station. Buses from Frankfurt Airport on service Line 62 travel regularly throughout the day to Schwanheim. The AIRLiner service on the other hand connects the airport with Darmstadt and the bus stop for this service is at Terminal 1, stop 14 and also at Terminal 2, Hall E, exit 8.
Public transport buses from Frankfurt Airport leave mainly from Terminal 1, but some bus services can also be boarded directly outside Hall E, exit 8. Passengers can buy tickets directly from the driver when boarding the bus.
The bus line 751 travels from the airport to Walldorf, Mörfelden and finally Darmstadt, while service 752 has the final destination Rüsselsheim, but also covers Walldorf and Mörfelden along the route. Both services use bus stop 24 at Terminal 1.
Service 72 from bus stop 22 at Terminal 1 heads out to Bischofsheim via Kelsterbach and Rüsselsheim, while service 73 only goes to Kelsterbach.
Frankfurt Airport buses on service N81 from bus stop 20 at Terminal 1 travel to Raunheim and Rüsselsheim, while service N7 travels to Frankfurt-Konstablerwache (the name of the bus stop) from bus stop 18 at Terminal 1.
Buses from Frankfurt Airport to Neu-Isenburg and Obertshausen are served by Line 651 from bus stop 17 at Terminal 1.
Other buses from Frankfurt Airport include the shuttle services to Airport Frankfurt Hahn (Flughafen Hahn), which leave from a bus stop at Terminal 2, opposite Hall E, exit 9. These shuttle services cover Frankfurt city centre and Airport Frankfurt Hahn and take around 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive. At Frankfurt Hahn the bus drops off passengers directly outside Terminal A.
The white buses are operated by a company called Bohr and the cost per adult ticket is EUR 13.00 for a single journey and children up to 7 years of age pay EUR 7.00. Adults can purchase a return ticket for EUR 18.00, but this is only valid for 24 hours. The tickets for this bus service can only be purchased from the driver on the bus, although at Frankfurt Hahn passengers can also obtain tickets at the information desk and at the ticket shop located in front of Terminal A.
